At Mr. Plunger, we specialize in three types of water heaters: electric water heaters, gas water heaters, and tankless water heaters.
- Electric water heaters use electricity to heat their water. Water is pulled into the water heater from the plumbing system and is heated first at the top and then at the bottom of the heating tank. Once heated, this water will be sent throughout your home, wherever you have turned on your hot water. This can be a cost-effective measure but may leave you without hot water in a power outage.
- Gas water heaters work similarly to electric water heaters, though they will keep going even when the power goes out. And, while electric heaters warm the water from the top down, gas heaters have a burner at the bottom of the tank that keeps the water warm. The water heats, rises, and is then sent out to wherever it’s needed.
- Tankless water heaters, sometimes called demand-type or instantaneous water heaters, operate slightly differently. While tank-type water heaters keep around stores of warm water, tankless water heaters only activate when the faucet is turned to warm. Because of this, they can provide you warm water far more quickly than other types of water heaters. However, they are limited in the amount that they can make all at once.
Whatever type of water heater you have, we are equipped with the right supplies and years of experience necessary to make sure that it stays working smoothly, efficiently, and safely for you and the rest of your household.
